I recently got into a little band called Mother Mother, especially when I learned they hail from Quadra Island just a little ways from my hometown in BC!
I ran into this Behind the Scenes of short about their video for ‘O My Heart.’ At first it’s just your run of the mill promotional short, but at some point there comes this magical moment where in interview one of the producers cracks and begins to gush about the nightmare logistic of the project. You get a glimpse into the splendiferous world of the ‘creative process,’ the endless, hourless, ageless night upon night surrounded by glue guns, paper scraps, pens, and empty beer cans, losing track of the calendar, the day of the week, circadian rhythm….
I was charmed that crack came and to see an exhausted man laugh in spite of himself. I loled in solidarity:)
