This song is fantastic on just by itself, but the live version….. it’s like taking something you thought you knew, and seeing just how powerful it has the potential to be, and are brought to your knees by it. It turns a really mean pop song into religion.
Like this one time when a a friend and I were threatened by someone and from my side that friend was in flight, a juggernaut from above… He moved like a brush stroke, this fluid power I never imagined could be just a wrong word away from me the entire time. Time slowed down, and I watched someone I thought I knew devastate in the same moment it took to feel my lungs fill.
The first time I heard this song, it was a little like that.
